Ascend Elements won the “Recycler of the Year” award at the inaugural Fastmarkets Voltas Awards on June 25 in Las Vegas. David Scoppa, Director of Business Development at Ascend Elements, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
The Voltas Awards recognize and celebrate pioneering companies, leaders and innovators who have demonstrated excellence and groundbreaking achievements across the battery raw materials supply chain, and those who are paving the way to a more sustainable future.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by Fastmarkets and the judging panel in this way,” said David Scoppa. “I’d like to recognize all the finalists in this category. We’re all working toward the same goal, which is sustainable circularity of lithium-ion battery materials.”
Each category was judged independently by an industry-leading panel of experts. The autonomous judging process is fundamental to the integrity of the awards, meaning the winners are selected on the merit of their achievements and outstanding contribution to the battery materials space against rigorous criteria.
Ascend Elements faced tough competition in the “Recycler of the Year” category. Other finalists in the category included:
- Aqua Metals
- Attero Recycling
- Cirba Solutions
- GLC Recycle
- Green Li-ion
- Huayou Recycling
In addition to the “Recycler of the Year” honor, Ascend was also a finalist in the categories of “Innovation” and “Best New Project.”
