Ascend Elements was recognized in the Reducing Emissions category of the 2024 Automotive D.R.I.V.E. Honours in Detroit on October 21, 2024. The awards competition is produced by Reuters Events to recognize companies driving sustainability, zero emission and net-zero goals.
The Automotive D.R.I.V.E. award recognizes organizations making a sustainable impact by reducing carbon emissions, creating EV solutions, and battery recycling. Other recipients of the 2024 Reducing Emissions award include both SK On and Polestar.
The Ascend Elements Hydro-to-Cathode® direct precursor synthesis process manufactures new EV battery cathode active material (CAM) from recycled content with 49% lower carbon emissions compared to traditional methods and primary material from mining. By 2030, Ascend aims to achieve 90% lower carbon emissions.
