As a Chemical Plant Operator, you will participate in the process of manufacturing NMC cathode precursor materials, while operating various equipment. You will be working with chemicals and powder while wearing all required PPE, following standard operating procedures.


The position schedule: 12 Hour Shifts Day and/or Night


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Equipment Monitoring / Technical



  • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials/productions to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities and that accurate inventory is maintained.

  • Operates automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in accordance w/ operating procedures, including programmable, logic control devices.

  • Responsible for complex liquid / chemical batch manufacturing, which also requires familiarity of a variety of production machines that serve as either internal suppliers or customers to the chemical operator. Equipment includes but not limited to mixers, agitators, pumps, differential pressure cells & gauges, valves, automated and manual delivery systems.

  • Utilizing strong attention to detail and multi-tasking, responsible for quality control of product, which includes frequent in-process and final product quality testing. Respond to out-of-control points by either following established action plans for process disruptions or adjusting equipment as appropriate for equipment disruptions.

  • Required to identify and complete preventive maintenance at a basic level. Handle first-line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed.

  • Perform manufacturing tasks related to the production of NMC cathode precursor materials.

    Includes operating and controlling mechanical powder handling equipment, chemical mixers, reactors, dryers, bulk unloaders, emptying and filling supersacks, etc.


Following Procedures



  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment.

  • Maintain a clean and productive area by ensuring that equipment and work area is cleaned after use and the equipment is maintained per the preventative maintenance schedule.


Communication/Documentation



  • Communicate with Shift Leader regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues. Actively participates in pre-shift meetings to assist in the development of individual work plans.

  • Complete and accurately record data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operations, raw material lot numbers, process and reaction conditions, and process yields in accordance with good documentation practices.

  • The employee is committed to and must support the EHS management process to obtain the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification as well as participate in system standards and practices in its compliance and commitment to policies, objectives, operational controls, documentation, system guidelines, and others that the organization subscribes to as mandatory.

  • Must attend an Environment, Health, and Safety Orientation program appropriate to their work environment.

  • The employee must follow 6S step-by-step methodology to maintain orderly workspaces and resources thereby enhancing productivity and safety.

  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklift, drum dollies, hoists, etc.

  • Assist with maintaining adequate supplies to ensure team has necessary supplies available to complete project work.

  • While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.

Education/Experience:



  • High school diploma and minimum of 3+ years of applicable production experience or post-high school education and 1 plus years production experience.

Job Overview:


The Senior Environmental, Heath, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator will be responsible for providing full time support to the operations teams to maintain compliance with applicable EHS company policies and regulatory requirements at our Covington, Georgia facility. The Covington facility is an industrial and chemical heavy manufacturing facility that produces materials for battery manufacturers. Duties / Responsibilities:


· Lead chemical process and risk management


· Support air, water, wastewater, and hazardous waste permitting and compliance.

We’re hiring an Electrical Engineer, to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. In such position, the Electrical Engineer shall lead front end engineering projects focused on the production of engineered cathode material from spent EV batteries. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for both facility engineering and manufacturing equipment engineering. The AME team is responsible for scaling our technology from demonstration plant scale to full production scale at multiple brown and green field sites in the US and Europe.  In addition to process development, vendor selection, plant design, commissioning and installation, this group leads the technology scaling efforts as next generation technologies are proven in our R&D group.


This position will be based out of our Westborough Massachusetts, or in Hopkinsville Kentucky, or hybrid from US location with travel to all company locations.


Responsibilities included but not limited to:



  • Provide technical leadership for the facility engineering, as well as manufacturing capital equipment

  • Prepare technical specifications, lead vendor selection and qualification, review and approve electrical drawings (e.g. single line diagram) provided by EPC or Equipment manufacturer, follow-up progress during manufacturing, perform FAT, SAT, installation support, commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting during operation.

  • Lead Electrical interface with EPC firm and construction contractor to effectively design and execute plant / facility electrical engineering equipment.

  • Support the production plant’s technical staff to meet plant metrics with robust processes and quality systems based on the APQP tool kit.

  • Other duties and responsibilities consistent with the Employees position

  • Up to 10% travel on average, as high as 50% during plant commissioning phases


Education and Other Skills:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or applicable engineering field. Advanced degree a plus.

  • Lead chemical process design with EPC firm or Equipment Manufacturer to effectively design and execute plant mechanical, electrical, piping, and controls systems.

  • Develop process flow, equipment list, equipment layout, utility matrix, and P&IDs for manufacturing processes required for production of new battery raw materials.

  • Work with R&D team to develop effective and efficient scaling strategies to bring new products and processes to pilot and production scale.

  • Support the production plant’s technical staff to meet plant metrics with robust processes and quality systems based on the APQP tool kit.

  • Knowledge of and hands on experience using APQP tools including FMEA, SPC, and design and process validation as well as Lean and 6 Sigma tools.

  • Experienced user of the capital equipment acquisition process including technical specification generation, supplier identification and assessment, equipment build tracking, factory and site acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, and ramping to metrics.

  • Hands-on experience during commissioning (water run, chemical run, sequence testing) is a must.

Position Overview


The Instrument & Controls (I&C) Technician Night Shift will be responsible for providing repair, calibration, and emergency maintenance services to production, utility operations, and infrastructure systems as necessary to provide for safe operations, regulatory compliance, and equipment availability related to instrument, controls, and low/mid voltage equipment systems plant wide.

  • Incorporate safe behavior into all activities and consistently comply with all established safety and health policies and procedures including Lock, Tag, Try and Test Before Touch.

  • Perform maintenance of production units, utility, and infrastructure systems.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate instrument and control systems. Example assets include instrumentation and controls for compressor systems, shredders, bagging stations, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, piping flow control, tank level control, and the Distributed Control System (DCS).

  • Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance tasks upon 480V 3-Phase switch gear.

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production unit, utility, and infrastructure equipment. Example activities include calibrating level/temperature/flow/pressure transmitters, installing control valves, performing control loop checks, performing interlock test procedures, wiring motor junction boxes, terminating electrically driven equipment at switch gear, pulling/installing 480V buckets, wiring actuators/sensors, performing switchgear IR scans, performing GFCI checks, replacing lighting and indicators, megging motor leads, etc.

  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) effectively to document and accomplish required maintenance in an efficient and organized manner.

  • Optimize plant preventive maintenance program to meet OEM recommendations, regulatory requirements, and corporate maintenance philosophy.

  • Provide maintenance procedure and training development assistance for new equipment.

  • Provide start-up support to production operations.

  • Perform On-the-Job Training with new members of the team.

  • Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations, contractors, and other service units.

  • Act as liaison between suppliers/manufacturers and manufacturing partners for problems with electrical equipment.

  • Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Required Skills / Abilities



  • Proficiency in the safe use of precision measuring instruments, power tools, and hand tools

  • Applied knowledge of industrial common instrument, controls, and electrical maintaining skills pertaining to instrument calibration, control loops, 12VDC to 480V Three Phase power distribution, hand rigging/hoisting, control valves, interlocks, gaskets, motors, and photosensors.

  • Thorough understanding of basic electrical theory, troubleshooting techniques, and safe work practices

  • Able to read and comprehend single line drawings and process schematics

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong multi-tasking competency

  • Team player attitude


Physical Requirements



  • Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment which may include dust mask, air purifying respirator (i.e., half and/or full faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.

  • Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs

  • While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.


Education/Training



  • High School Diploma (or higher-level education) in the field of Mechanical engineering and/or industrial maintenance

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred, maintaining instrument/control/electrical systems preferably in a chemical plant, refinery, or large process plant
